Photo was taken from my apartment window. The trees have always been there for all my years living in this apartment but I have never taken notice that they even existed till recently, 20 years later !

What got me started

 

I am so excited to pen my first blog post. The idea of blogging was first prompted by a confidant when she first learnt of my intention to retire, which was a year into planning.  We discussed in depth how important it would be for me to keep active, both physically and mentally, as I transit out of my busy corporate life.  And most importantly was how to spend the rest of my life meaningfully.

 

I completely brushed off the idea of blogging initially.  I had never seen myself as one that could write about my life journey as I am a very private person. 

 

My 1st step

 

So my confidant got me started on Twitter, using an anonymous account. Tweets are easy, they are short and sweet. I started tweeting with photos taken during my daily walk to reflect the moment. Sharing my first 2 early tweets here. They captured the moments and reflected on my inner thoughts. 

 

I have been tweeting daily since and am experiencing so much peace and joy in it. There are so many people out there learning from each other, helping one another and giving so much kindness to the world ❤️ 

 

Slowly and steadily, I became inspired and motivated to share my life moments and experiences but tweet has its limitations. I then decided to explore blog, to hopefully bring more life moments experience to a wider audience and bring more joy to people reading them.

So here you go, my blog is live !  “LiveNow BeHappy” will be anchored on the foundation of “Learn from the Past” and “Be Thankful for the Present”. I am very blessed with a peaceful transition into my retirement. 

 

In my daily walk, I am starting to discover so much nature beauty that never get notice till now. My mentor reminded me that when our heart is at ease and open, when our mind is at rest and clear, we activate a higher seeing from the depth of our being – we see more beauty in the things we have taken for granted. 

 

I know to sustain a blog takes commitment and this is hard work. I have pondered on this mission for a few months and am glad that I have finally taken this 1st step to blog out of passion with a purpose. I trust this will be enough to help me sustain this blogging journey and bring joy to whoever reads them. 

 

My blog will always be pen off with “🌻😊” as a wish for your day to be bright and cheerful ❤️ Enjoy !
