Wishing all of you Bountiful Blessings for the Lunar Year Of The Ox !!!
Visiting families and friends with a pair Mandarin Oranges and Hongpao (Red Packet) is one of the most recognised traditions that are observed during the Festival. Orange symbolises wealth and fortune, and Red colour symbolises good luck, abundance and is used to ward off evil spirits.
Hongpao is filled with money and are typically given by the married to the unmarried, most of whom are children. By giving the money to children, elders are hoping to pass on a year of good fortune and blessings. The married younger generation will also give to their parents as a blessing of longevity and a show of gratitude.
Some of the most common greetings and wishes are printed on those Hongpao above and I like to take the opportunity to wish you and loved ones :
🌟Happy and Prosperous New Year 🌟!
🌟May You Always Get More Then You Wish For 🌟 !
🌟May You Be Blessed With Good Fortune and Luck🌟 !
🌟May All Things Go Smoothly For You 🌟!
🌟May You Be Blessed With Peace And Good Health 🌟!
Best Wishes From Miso Too
In Chinese culture, the lion symbolises power, wisdom, and superiority. The lion dance is one of the most important traditions at Chinese New Year. It is performed to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year.
With Covid 19 and Social Distancing, Lion Dance are restricted in many public places this year. One of my friends shared with me a fun video and gave me the idea of dressing up Miso for lion dance to create a festive atmosphere and bring happiness. I could not capture her earlier “dance” video here but hope these photos will bring you some fun and joy !
HUAT Ah !!!
Chai Shen Dao, which means God Of Fortune has arrived at your door !
For my international readers, HUAT means Prosperity and the following four numbers below were created during a Lion Dance.
Good Luck in buying and striking this number in the upcoming Lottery 😊. HUAT Ah !!!
