Selfless Love Of A Mother

Would you understand the selfless love of a mother ?

Whenever mothers get together, one of the most common passionate topic would always be about their children. It does not matter what stages of the children’s life may be, there will always be something that will keep them busy, something to be proud of; something to be worried about; something to feel joyful; something to be sad over, something to be thankful for and many more…

All mothers work very hard to support the family, and a mother’s selfless love will always put her children’s needs above hers. I have known many working mothers who put in tremendous effort to juggle between demands of work and their children’s priorities.

Whether it is bringing the children to practise for extracurricular activities; to learning an extra skill such as a sport, art or music; to shuttling between tuition centres…, weekends are always packed with children’s activities.

There is simply no energy nor time left to pursue any personal hobbies or interests, especially in the children growing up years. The sacrifices a mother made can never be easily understood by a child but as the child grows into adulthood, it is to the child’s credit if the child can see the Selfless Love of his or her mother.

All mothers have an innate unconditional love for their children and will always do their level best for them, whatever the circumstances may be. The hard work and foundation laid out there are very important elements to give a child a head start into adulthood. This is not something to be taken for granted.

Teach children to be grateful for what they have and not lament on what they do not have. All mothers want their children to be happy and gratitude is the power to happier life. Just a simple hug; a simple thank you; a simple card gift from any child can go a long way to bring joy and comfort to a mother’s heart and also make oneself happy.

Do not underestimate the power of a good mother-child relationship, for it brings comfort, joy and peace to both mother and child and will help them continue to be happier into the later part of their lives.

Mother’s Day is round the corner; here is wishing all mothers joy and peace, in the comfort of their children …

Nice reminder… And don’t wait till it is too late. Start now. Once they depart, there are only memories to smile or to regret on. And I pray its to smile for all.

    Lyn,
Short and sweet with valuable messages. Hug a mother or touch her hands is most important. I personally had not done more especially, when my mother was old and fragile and I was living afar. Whenever I sat down beside her, she touched and stroked my hands.
Yesterday, I visited Chinatown in London where restaurants laid out tables for outdoor dining. There I saw a petite, fragile, poorly dressed Chinese woman struggled with her steps forward, held on to the back of many dining chairs for stability. A waitress told her to wait at the doorstep while she went in to fetch her food order. Soon, one waiter came out with a bag of food for the fragile woman. I turned away to see other scene. Not long, I saw the same old woman was sitting alone on a step where the door was closed. I walked to her, gave her a £5 note. She touched my hand gratefully. I nodded and left. She was homeless. She reminded me of my late mother when she walked in her home, she held to the back of chairs or table top for safety steps forward.

Agreed Spring ! The touch and warmth from hands is very comforting … thank you for sharing your lovely experience with your late mom… I am inspired by your kindness towards the old woman, and good to know that she had helped triggered such sweet memories of your late mother.

Lyn, I like your sharing. Selfless mum sacrifices a lot for her children even if she feels so tired. She wants to provide for her children the best she can. She always meet their needs, love and take care of them without expectations, stand up and guide them always. Lyn, just to let u know your article impacted on my elder son. After reading your blog. He commented:
“Well written. I love U mum!”. Also love to share. My sister, as a mother to her children always give and never ask anything in return. I describe her as selfless, loving, brave, wise, gentle, kind and beautiful mum. So be grateful, thankful and show appreciation to your mother. Yeah! Mother’s Day is a day set aside to recognise and honour mothers for their tireless work and selfless sacrifice for her family. So let’s remember to celebrate Happy Mother’s Day!
