Let’s Pray For Our Brothers And Sisters In India

India always has a special place in my heart. Over the past two decades, I have travelled to India at least two dozens times, mainly for work. In the recent years, I have also managed to find some time to explore a few interesting places; get to know the local culture and her people too. I simply have a very strong affinity with India.

This past week has been a very sad week, as I heard of some very devastating news in my India local friends circle. The Covid-19 situation is alarming and the spread of infection is all over. Just within the span of the last two weeks, the India cases have escalated and the reality hits hard at a personal level when it starts to directly impact people you know.

My thoughts, prayers and heart goes out to the people of India as they struggle desperately to fight against the wide spread Covid-19 infection outbreak.

My Prayers

To my friend whose wife and kids are infected, I am so relieved to hear that they are progressing well. May the Divine Grace continue to be with them as they ride through their recovery safely.

To my friend who has lost his father in this battle, I know it is very heart breaking as I have recently lost a loved one too. May you be at peace and continue to stay strong, and may your father Rest In Peace.

To my friend who has lost two of his relatives, may the families find peace and comfort dealing with their loss; and may their family bonds be deepened as they faced this together harmoniously.

To the front line workers, nurses and doctors, may you find the strength to fight this battle; be comforted by the lives saved and not be disheartened by the lives lost.

To all my brothers and sisters in India, may Divine Grace be with you and that you will pull through this crisis and come out stronger. May all be blessed with peace and not be overwhelmed into a panic mode in the midst of all confusion. May the family bond be strengthened, as you mindfully deal with this very stressful and difficult situation at the home front.

Our Collective Strength And Love

It is a very heartbreaking crisis, but in it we saw humanity at work. Despite being fearful of being infected themselves, many still step up to be volunteers. From delivering cooked food to those quarantined alone; to helping to cremate bodies; to sourcing for the supply of oxygen.

For those of us overseas and reading the devastating news from afar, apart from donations and prayers, there is very little else we can do. So wherever you are around the world, let us pray for our brothers and sisters in India and extend your support with donations if possible.

Do not know where and how to donate… just Google “Donation for India Covid”, there is a long list out there. You can also Link here Indiacovidresources, it brings you to a list of NGOs and initiatives you can help support. My family and I did it through Singapore Red Cross.

A healing thought; a kind prayer; and a little donation can go a long way… with our collective strength and love.

OM Shanti Shanti Shanti 🙏

Lyn, thank you for your prayers and appealing for donations to help people of India. Happy you are thinking We Are One World and they are our family too. No one is safe until everyone is safe. Sorry for your lost of friends in India. I too have been thinking of my Indian Colleagues (and their families) who worked with me in hotel projects in Singapore between 1982 to 1985. If you know a friend who is collecting funds to help his local community, kindly let me know.

Hi Lyn, indeed a sad situation in India now. We share the pain and grief as many of the brothers and sisters are infected and dying of covid 19. Our thoughts go out to the many doctors, nurses, hospital workers, ambulance drivers and those working tirelessly to respond to the needs of our brothers and sisters. We don’t know what else to do but to express our love, care and support by praying and giving donations. We pray for God’s strength and great healing for Covid patients as they struggle in pain and suffering. May God’s protection and hope be with them at this time of uncertainty and distress. May God brings relief to the sick, keep them strong in faith.

Hi Lyn, so nice of you to write this and I am so so touched by your compassion. We will get better soon – wishes and help from lots of wonderful people like you are with us. There are also many positive stories of how people are rising up to support complete strangers – Angel’s all!!

Indeed Rajiv, there is a lot of good seen in this bad situation. I am so inspired by the volunteers who risk their own health to help others. May they be well protected by angels and may Divine Strength be with them ❤️
