Life is fragile and anything can happen anytime without warning… Together with my sister Eliza, we write this week’s article with great sadness over the sudden loss of Eliza’s very close friend of 17 years, Khim.
I had met Khim on several family occasions and my impressions of her were that she was very easy going, cheerful and humble. I have invited Eliza to co-write this week’s article as we felt there is so much we can learn from Khim’s life.
From Eliza to Khim…
“The value of our 17 years of friendship is beyond measure. It is heartbreaking and I am grieving that you are now gone… too soon at the age of 68. I remember you telling me jokingly…”If one day I am gone, do not be sad and do not grieve for me because I live with no regrets. God has given me all that I need”… A life well lived Khim !
We did and enjoyed so many things together, singing; eating; travelling; shopping; just simply chatting and sharing our life experiences; etc… Most importantly, I could be totally myself and always felt relaxed whenever I was with you. Thank you for being such a good listener, always allowing others to share their opinions before your own.
You were such a kind and caring person, selfless and was always there for your loved ones and those in need. I could see that some of your happiest moments were helping to take care of your three lovely grandchildren; singing at an old folk home and performing at charity events to raise funds for the needy… you talked about each of them with so much enthusiasm.
You were always so considerate, independent and positive… and when faced with any life crisis, you would be focused on finding solutions as opposed to pushing blame or living in self pity.
Thank you for teaching me so many life lessons and for patiently reminding me that life is too short to be spent worrying about things beyond our control… Allow happiness and fun to be part of our life, you said.
One of the most important lessons was seeing how you were willing to forgive a very close loved one who had hurt you deeply. You told me that we are in control of our life and how we want to deal with the hurt is up to us. You chose to forgive, let go of your resentment and seek to understand with an open heart and compassion, so that you both could move forward in life meaningfully without regrets.
Thank you for being my best friend and helping me through the most difficult times of my life… I will miss you dearly; will cherish all our fond memories and remember all your words of wisdom on how to live life purposefully and with no regrets.
My heart is breaking but I know you are at peace and smiling down at all of us. Rest In Peace Khim 🙏🏻”.
Life Does Not Wait For Us
Khim passing has reminded us that life does not wait for us… Live each day purposefully without regret.

Well written
Take care ❤️

Live without regret and smiling like sunflower.
Yes, this reminds us on the importance of living well…
Dear Lyn, my heart goes out to you and your sister Eliza at this time of mourning. Staying in our relatively “safe” place in Singapore sometimes gives us the illusion that we still have a lot of time. We will wait till the tightening measures are over to visit a loved one. We can wait for the Pandemic to be over to work on a project that is close to our hearts…Thanks for the reminder that Life does not wait. With the restricted movements and perhaps less distractions we can treasure this time to embark on our inner journey to know ourselves and priorities in life.
God Bless
Yes tomorrow may never come … a reminder on the importance of living our life well…
My deepest condolences to Khim’s family. This is so true. Living every day purposefully with no regrets is how i would want to live my life too. Live with no regrets and leave the world with no regrets!
Great thinking SK, I wish you all the very best in your life journey ❤️
Lyn, My sincere sympathy to Eliza’s lost of Khim. Rest in Peace Khim.❤️
Thank you ❤️
When we loose someone, then start to realise their value.
So do the things that you think should be done to the people you know to take away your regrets later.
Anyway all the best to Eliza and look forward to the future.
